Do you wanna build a Snowman … in the bath?

Build a Snowman, in the bath? Now that really would be fun, wouldn’t it?

Well thanks to the team over at H&A, their new Frozen Olaf’s bath range, will have kids of all ages building Snowmen and splashing around in bubbles at every bathtime.

Olaf has his new bath range out at Tesco and we were lucky enough to get to try out the range as we are proud to be part of H&A’s Bathtime Fun Squad.

Impressed, doesn’t even cut it. Olaf definitely knows how to make lots of fun and smiles at bathtime.

Firstly, we had so much fun with the Mouldable Bath Soap.

olaf

You simply shake the can and squirt it into your hand. The soapy foam expands so you don’t need to squirt out much of the foam.

olaf7

photo 4 (90)

You can then sculpt and create your very own masterpiece.

So you see, you really can build a Snowman in the bath…

photo 5 (53)

The soapy foam can then be used for washing and easily washes away after use.

The second product in the range that we loved was the Cuddle Robe. Perfect for getting dry and keeping warm and snug after the bath.

olaf8

It was so unbelievably soft.

The boys were a little jealous of their baby sister getting all wrapped up in Olaf’s cuddle robe but we were so surprised that the robe was actually bigger than we thought.

olaf9

photo 5 (54)

This photo shows you what a great length it is. Connor is 8.

olaf4

The kids liked the little pockets to put their hands in, so they could easily keep the robe wrapped around themselves.

photo 4 (91)

(Could somebody please tell Olaf to make an adult sized one!)

The Bath and Shower Bubbles are also part of the range.

olaf2

Mild and gentle for delicate skin, this moisturising bath and shower wash can be used every day.

olaf1 The bubbles smell fruity and this sparkly bubble bath is a sure fire hit for all Frozen fans.

Last but by no means least, is the Colour Changing Wash Mitt

photo 4 (89)

Harley loves using this to wash himself in the bath. It makes him want to actually wash himself, instead of us encouraging him to do it!

If you look closely, you’ll see some white snowflakes appear down the sides, when put into water:

olaf5

olaf6

What a truly delightful set of bath products. Perfect for any Frozen fan or simply for anyone who doesn’t believe that you really can build a Snowman in the bath …

olaf10

(Raisins and dried fruit are not normally found in our bathroom but they make fab eyes and nose!)

Thanks to H&A and Tots100, I’m delighted to be able to offer one lucky reader a set of Olaf’s Bathtime Products. If you would like to enter the giveaway, just follow the instructions and enter as many options as you would like.

Ozeri WeightMaster II

You probably know how much I rate Ozeri products.

It’s a brand that has never failed to impress me.

Applying the word ‘best’ to the title of a product, is something which I wouldn’t do lightly, however, their WeightMaster II scales, are without question, the best weighing scales, I have ever used.

3

The scales come in a sleek design of either black or white. I have been using them for a while now and it’s definitely the fact that the LCD screen lights up green or red depending on whether you have lost or gained weight, that sets these apart from any others that I have used.

photo (16)

6

*Your weight flashes twice on the screen. It then locks in and remains on screen.

* The WeightMaster II allows you to programme your height and weight to give reliable BMI measurements.

*Your Body Mass Index is displayed under your weight.

* I love the clear, blue LCD full display screen; excuse my boney feet and flip flop tanlines!

1

* The Colour Alert technology highlights your net weight change in green to show weight loss and red if you have gained weight. This was my favourite feature. It was instant, visual, clear and shocking if red!

There’s no way I’m putting a photo of my weight on here, so here is an example from the manual to show you how it would look:

4

*The scales have a Memory Access Mode. This features allows you to recall the previous recorded weights. The L1 indicates the net weight change from your last recorded weight. The L3, L7, L30 indicates the net weight change from the average of your last 3,7 and 30 recorded weights.

* The scales have auto-recognition technology for up to 8 people.

* The scales can instantly recognise and recall the correct person’s memory profile when they stand on the scales (unless there has been a change in weight of over 6.6 lbs)

*You simply step on to the scales to turn them on; no fiddly button to look for. The scales automatically calibrates with StepOn technology and powers off to preserve the battery life.

* The scales have a slip resistant exterior and look very sleek in my bathroom.

* The scales come with a handy booklet with clear instructions as to how to programme the scales. The booklet also comes with some useful information with regards to Body Mass Index with it’s weight classification and BMI value.

* It’s easy to change the unit of measurement from Kg to Lbs by using a little switch underneath. My only niggle is that the measurement is completely in lbs and not in stone. You therefore have to convert the total amount of lbs into stones and lbs, yourself.

*Profiles can be reset, if needed.

*It is treated with an antimicrobial product to protect against bacteria, keeping it clean and hygienic.

Now, that’s clearly a lot of things to like about a set of bathroom scales!

Never have I listed or reviewed a product with so many features to like.

It’s state of the art design, leads the way for bathroom scales technology. The Ozeri WeightMaster II, is currently available here for £29.99.

Peli’s Play Pouch – Bathroom tidier

We love bathtimes in our house. Toys, water, bubbles and splashing, it’s one of my favourite times of the day.

However, one of my parenting pet peeves is stepping over or on the toys the next morning, that have been left in the bath.

We used to have a plastic bucket next to the bath that all of the toys went in after Bathtime. Although it kept things tidy, it wasn’t particularly lovely to look at and where the horrible, yucky water would collect at the bottom of the bucket, it would stick to the toys and make them all slimy.

We were thrilled to come across the Playful Pouch by BabyThingz a fun and easy way to store all those bath toys:

photo 1 (20)

photo (16)

* It is easy to attach to the side of the bath. There are no fiddly clips or clasps; it simply slots over the side of the bath

photo 5 (48)

* It saves on clutter and looks neat and tidy on the side of the bath

* It can be fitted so that the net is either in or out of the bath

photo 2 (19)

* The netting pouch, allows the toys to drip dry without be stored in that horrible slimy water

* The pelican’s beak opens fully so that toys can easily be put into or taken out of the pouch

photo 3 (7)

* It’s extremely child friendly. Young children can open and close the pelican’s beak and remove toys easily for themselves

photo 4 (80)

We fill the pelican’s beak with the toys, when it is in the bath. We find it works best this way so that the water can drip away, into the bath. When the toys are dry or when we want to use the bath ourselves, we simply turn the pouch so that it faces out of the bath. It’s extremely easy to move around.

And the best bit… the kids love feeding Peli with their toys so I’m left with a nice and tidy bath when they’ve finished splashing around!

The Peli’s Pouch retails at £15.95 and can be ordered here.

Weekly Weigh In ~ Wk 7

Ok, here we go… a hands up moment…

I went out for a mahoosive meal on Thursday as I said ‘goodbye’ to some very dear colleagues at work. It was my leaving do, so I think I’m allowed!

What I did notice was that I couldn’t finish the whole meal, like I usually can. So my stomach must have shrunk.

It’s getting used to the portion sizes as with Diet Chef, the portions are much noticeably smaller (obviously) than I would usually give myself.

It was nice to feel like I could treat myself but I didn’t have a dessert, like I usually would so bonus points there, I reckon!

Here’s my favourites from the Diet Chef menu this week:

Breakfast

photo 2 (15)

Porridge with strawberries, with added fresh strawberries.

I love how sweet and filling this porridge is. It doesn’t need the added fresh strawberries as it’s lovely on it’s own but I do love fresh fruit in the mornings.

Lunch

photo 1 (17)

Tomato, Red Pepper and Cheese Pasta Pot

Snack

photo (20)

Fruit and Spice Oat Biscuits. So scrummy dunked in a cup of tea!

Dinner

photo 3 (4)

Coq au Vin.

I’m sharing this one because it was a delightful surprise. A tender breast of chicken braised with mushrooms and pearl onions in a rich, red wine and stock based sauce and strips of smoked bacon. I added the mashed swede.

H&A’s Thomas & Friends Bathtime Range

A little while ago, you may remember we were delighted to announce that we were chosen to be part of H&A’s Bathtime Fun Squad, 2015.

Well our first task has arrived.

H&A have just launched their new Thomas and Friends Bathtime range in Tesco. The range consists of a 3D Magic Facecloth and Bath and Shower Bubbles.

As soon as Harley saw the products, he wanted a bath straight away, no hanging around until bedtime!

photo 5 (47)

There were lots and lots of Bathtime smiles, playing in the bubbles.

photo 4 (77)

photo 4 (78)

photo (16)

* The Bath and Shower Bubbles are mild and gentle so no nasty tears or stinging eyes

* The product is so gentle that it can be used for all ages. Lola can enjoy the bubbles too

* The bubble bath has a lovely, fresh, fruity scent

* It’s hypoallergenic so it’s perfect for young, sensitive and delicate skin

* The bubbles last for the whole duration of the bath

* It’s moisturising for soft and well moisturised skin

* It can be used as a shower wash and can be used every day

* A little goes a long way

We also had fun with the 3D magic facecloth.

photo 5 (46)

The facecloth comes originally out of the box, as a cube and when placed in water, it magically opens and grows to become a brightly coloured flannel. It was great fun to watch and Harley was amazed. Lola was far too young to appreciate the magic! The flannel is so soft and colourful and a great way to encourage all Thomas fans to wash themselves!

Kokoso Natural Baby Skincare

Coconut Oil is a term that I’ve seen used a lot, usually among beauty bloggers. But when I was asked by Kokoso Baby if I would like to try their 100% natural coconut oil for my baby’s skin, I was thrilled to be able to see if the hype was all it was cracked up to be.

logo

Kokoso say “It is a high quality virgin coconut oil with no nasty bits. It hasn’t been refined, bleached, deodorised or tinkered with. We’ve simply left all of its amazing natural nutrients to do the important job of nourishing your baby’s skin.”

photo 1 (11)

When the tub arrived, I had no preconceived ideas other than it would be in an oil form.

Ahem… I was wrong!

The coconut oil is in a solid form and you need to scoop out the product with your fingertips or with a teaspoon

photo 2 (10)

photo 3 (101)

The minute you warm the product between your fingers, it melts into your hand to create a richly smooth oil which just happens to smell divine. I’m such a fan of all things coconut. I once had a coconut perfume because I adore the smell. It’s so summery.

photo (18)

Coconut oil is brilliant at nourishing and hydrating skin because the fatty acids in the coconut oil sink deep into the skin.

Everyone loves and wants baby soft skin and Kokoso is the product to create just that – baby soft skin.

photo (16)

* Kokoso is dermatologically tested so it is suitable for sensitive skin. It can be used on newborns, which is welcome news for all new parents as so many products and creams are too harsh for a baby’s delicate newborn skin.

photo 1 (12)

* It’s fab at keeping those gorgeous squishy baby bottoms, smooth and sore free. Use it after each nappy change.

* It can help to sore those red, teething cheeks that my little one has at the moment.

* After I did a Baby Massage course when my son was a few weeks old, it’s always been something that I’ve enjoyed giving them, usually after a bath. Kokoso is perfect for massaging into their skin.

photo 2 (11)

* It’s great for dabbing onto sore noses from a horrible cold.

* All the family can benefit from this wonder product

* Harley has a little scar near his eyebrow so I rub it onto his scar in the hope that it will minimise it’s appearance.

* I use it as a lip balm.

* It can be used as a make up remover and even a deep conditioning hair mask. I haven’t tried this but definitely will do, if it gives me nourishing, coconut smelling locks!

I love the nourishing effect it has on my dry hands. It sinks into the skin so quickly that it doesn’t feel oily or greasy at all. It makes an excellent hand cream.

* If I had known about Kokoso during pregnancy, I would have applied it to my baby bump.

* It is 100% natural and if you look on the ingredients list it only has one thing listed.

* A little goes a long way so a single tub lasts for ages.

So for a pure and gentle way to care for your baby’s skin, that is completely natural, give Kokoso a try. I’m pretty sure you will love it as much as I do.

Kokoso comes in a large 181g tub for £7.99 and you can order it here.

Disclaimer: I was kindly sent a tub of natural coconut oil from Kokoso for the purpose of review, however all words and opinions are very much my own.

Weekly Weigh In ~ Wk 6

photo 1 (9)

I have moved this weekly feature to a Tuesday as I already have my Mindful Monday posts on a Monday.

As regular readers will know, I have been lucky enough to be sent a monthly hamper from Diet Chef. The food really is delicious and I have learnt a lot about portion control, as a result.

What’s really surprised me is how the need to fill my plate with rice if I was having a curry or chilli, was always just because it seemed to be the right companion for the dish. However I have been adding vegetables (usually sweetcorn, it’s my favourite) to these kind of dishes and I haven’t missed the heavy carbs at all.

Diet Chef provide you with a breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner for each day and I like to share with you my favourites for the week. So here are my favourites this week:

Breakfast

photo 3 (100)

Soft Chocolate Cookie with added apple (this took me a while to get used to for a breakfast but it’s a great option if you’re running late in the mornings and time is tight. It’s filling and tastes really good!)

Lunch

photo 2 (8)

Tomato and Herb Bulgar Wheat and Couscous with added tomato

Snack

photo 4 (74)

Sour Cream and Chive Pretzels

Dinner

photo 1 (8)

Chicken Tikka Masala with added sweetcorn

A slow weightloss this week but to be honest, I was expecting to plateau long before now so I’m not too disheartened.

If you are quick, Diet Chef are running a Summer Challenge during March.

Diet Chef say, ‘have you had enough of being unfit, unhealthy or unhappy? Then join our life revolution – the Diet Chef Summer Challenge. It takes 16 weeks to form a new habit and ultimately become a new person so by the start of August you could become the best version of you. Customers are able to sign up for the plan for as little as £150 per hamper. Details can be found here.

Here’s to another positive week of weightloss.

Thank you so much to everyone who has left comments of support and encouragement on this tough journey, we call weight loss!

I’m so thrilled to say that Diet Chef have agreed to provide me with another monthly hamper of their delicious, chef prepared meals. All calorie controlled and delivered straight to your door. What could be easier?

It was so exciting to fill out the meal selections, as this time I knew which dishes and snacks were my absolute favourites and which I would order more of.

In the space of only 4 weeks, I noticed that there were even more options to choose from as Diet Chef had added new yummy meals to the menu.

The hamper arrived 2 days later and it’s lovely to see my cupboard stocked up with Diet Chef; my fruit bowl full of fruit; the salad drawer full to the brim and the veg on stand by.

For the next 4 weeks, I thought I would share with you, my favourite breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner for the week.

So here is this weeks:

Breakfast

photo 3 (97)

2 Buttermilk pancakes with added banana and a tiny splash of maple syrup (this was a new addition to the menu. All week, I was looking forward to the weekend to enjoy this. The kids were so jealous!)

Lunch

Creamy Pesto Pasta Pot with pine kernels and herbs.

Snack

photo 1 (7)

Vanilla Protein Bar (I ordered more of these as they are very filling and of course, covered in chocolate. Say no more!)

Dinner

photo 2 (6)

Chilli Con Carne with kidney beans, added avocado and spring onion (this is my all time favourite dish, I’ve ordered quite a few of these!)

ChattyFeet are happy feet

We are known in our house, unfortunately also at pre-school, the childminder’s and by friends, for our love of brightly coloured, usually odd, socks! The washing machine loves our socks almost as much as we do because it seems to swallow a single sock, during every wash. The sock drawers are usually full of lonely, single socks, whose partner has seemingly vanished into the proverbial black hole.

Harley loves fun socks, I love brightly coloured socks, so I was delighted to be approached by ChattyFeet to see if we would like to receive some from their range.

ChattyFeet aren’t any ordinary socks, oh no, we are talking socks with attitude, socks with bags of personality.

All of the designs have their own character and a little story to go behind each name.

As a lover of all things royal, I adore this ‘Kate Middle-Toe’ design, I can definitely see a resemblance, followed by the ‘Yoko Mono’ socks.

PicMonkey Collage

All of the socks are made from 75% Combed Cotton , 23% Polyamide , 2% Elastane

Socks should be washed on a low temperature, up to 40°C.

Size Information

Adults UK Eur
Medium 4–8 37–42
Large 9–12 43–47
Kids UK Eur
12–24 Months 3½–6 20–23
2–4 Years 7–9 24–27
4–7 Years 9–12 27–30

The socks are incredibly soft and comfy. They wash really well and keep their shape face!

My favourite thing about ChattyFeet, is that there is a mini-me sock for every character. I for one, have often wondered if my daughter’s dresses or tops come in an adult size (kids have such beautiful clothes, these days, I have clothes envy!) but ChattyFeet have created their characterful designs so that adults and children can wear matching socks.

I love that.

Lola and I both have the Venus socks.

photo 3 (96)

Harley and Daddy both have the Sigmund socks.

photo 4 (71)

It was so much fun to play around with the characters, pretending to make them talk to each other and interact. We held a ChattyFeet Chatty Show! It was adorable to hear Harley put on little voices when he took on different characters.

photo 5 (43)

photo 1 (6)

And Lola loved making her feet talk to each other.

You can view the rest of the quirky character range here. ChattyFeet also sell fab Gift Sets if you are looking for a funky present idea.

I certainly feel like I have a spring in my step when I’m wearing ChattyFeet. You only have to look down and you will smile.

Which Character would you choose?

Let’s do this! Here’s to a good week of strength, self-belief and determination.
