This week I celebrated my birthday.
It was a week full of birthday love and surprises.
Luke booked a surprise holiday to Center Parcs with our lovely friends, it was amazing.
Thank you so much for all of your cards, pressies and birthday wishes. You are all lovely.
So as I celebrated turning another year older, I turned to this quote to share with you this week:
Happy Bank Holiday and Half Term. I hope you all have a lovely week.
When my children are older, more than anything, I want them to look back on their childhood with the happiest of memories.
I want them to remember the time we spent together as a family.
I want them to remember the days out; the trips to the park; the bike rides; the walks in the forest; days at the beach.
The free things.
The simple things.
I want them to remember, simply the time they spent with Mummy and Daddy.
I love this quote by Abigail Van Buren and I think it works brilliantly on a photo of Lola and daddy, going off for a walk.
‘If you want your children to turn out well, spend twice as much time with them and half as much money’
Time is worth more to a child than any gift.
This week’s Mindful Monday thought, comes from my own Blog header:
The caption that I chose to encapsulate the whole concept behind my blog is:
This weekend it was my father in law’s 70th birthday, so to mark the occasion all of Luke’s side of the family went away for the weekend. Luke has 2 brothers and a sister so all getting together at the same time, with all our children, can prove tricky. The boys loved spending time with their cousins and Lola enjoyed some girlie time with Amelia, Enya and Mia.
So, Happy Birthday, Barry. We hope you had a really, lovely weekend.
Every Family is beautiful, but ours is my favourite.
Have a great week, everyone and give your family an extra squeeze.
Today is an extremely poignant day for our family.
The start of a new life. New careers. New happiness.
So with a deep breathe and holding hands, we are walking through that door to a shiny new future.
And I’m bloomin’ excited!
Have a lovely week.
You know when someone just enters your life and you couldn’t imagine your life without them?
Friends are so incredibly important.
Best friends who I share (almost) everything with, work colleagues who will be friends for life, Blogging friends and hopefully new Mummy friends that I will make when Harley starts school.
This is for all of you:
Thank you to my beautiful friend, Sarah for this little pressie. I love it.
I saw this image a while ago and kept it as I thought it was perfect for this little blog feature.
Sometimes we need to train ourselves or remind ourselves to appreciate the present; be it an emotion, a belief, a sensation, an impulse or a simple thought.
‘Surrender to what is. Let go of what was. Have faith in what will be.’
Have a mindful week, everyone.
My inspirational quote(s) this week is in honour of World Book Day on Thursday.
Dr. Seuss speaks some very wise words indeed, don’t you think?
My personal favourite is Number 4. How very true.
And as it is World Book day this week and the thought of whipping up a book character costume for your little one, brings you out in a cold sweat ( it would me, but fortunately preschool aren’t requesting it!) then take a little peek at my Pinterest Board here for some inspiration.
I love the Stick Man costume (one of our all time favourite books) and Superman is adorable. The Gruffalo is brilliant also if you have little kiddies.
Will you or your children be dressing up for Book Day?
On Friday it was my gorgeous husband’s birthday. We enjoyed a lovely meal out to Giraffe. What a super restaurant. We love it there.
Just us. Me and him.
We are very lucky to have my parents live just around the corner so a babysitter is pretty much available on tap. Having said that, we don’t take advantage of it enough. And when I saw this from My First Years, it made me realise why…
Happy New Year, everyone.
Here’s a bit of inspiration from Marilyn Monroe for you, to start your week:
I love a good quote.
My home has them on its walls. My classroom has them on its doors. My phone has them stored away for inspiration. So I thought I would share my favourites, in a new weekly project, Mindful Monday.
Monday, the start of the working week, the one day I perhaps need the most inspiration to get me through the next 5 days until the weekend!
I hope you enjoy them. I hope they inspire you or perhaps let you take a moment to pause in this whirlwind of a journey. So let’s kick the project off with this one.
How unbelievably true …
